eCAP - eHealth services for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The aim of the eCap project was to create services that would help surmount the challenges in the delivery of mental health services to adolescents and children in remote areas.

eCap at a glance

The background for the project was that the need for psychiatric services for children and adolescents generally exceeds service capacity. Building on existing services, the eCAP project used information technology to develop better mental health services to children and adolescents in the partner areas. The aim was to provide high quality specialist services closer to the patient’s home. Other expected effects were improved and more equal access to timely outpatient psychiatry services, specialist evaluation and treatment, reduced waiting times and more rational use of specialist services.
